To assist and support the Business Manager in maximising Area sales through proactive stock control, marketing, sales, fundraising and high levels of shop presentation and customer care. To ensure the sales fundraising and marketing promotions are implemented where a need or opportunity exists to drive sales. To assist in setting and achieving the Area budget and regularly monitor performance through Profit and Loss accounts, Key Performance indicators, CAPS objectives and other relevant information. To work within Area expenditure in line with agreed budgets, regularly monitor and feedback as required. To ensure compliance within the Area of all Sue Ryder Care Policies and Procedures - checking, updating and providing feedback with particular attention to all administration Health & Safety legislation, Trading Standards, Risk Assessments and all other legal or statutory requirements. To assist the Business Managers in shop opening and closures. To assist the planning of staffing requirements and to assist the Business Manager to recruit, develop and to retain a skilled and motivated team. To monitor, review and feedback performance of all Area staff against CAPS objectives, working with the Business Manager in identifying and evaluating performance against agreed objectives. To cascade appropriate, relevant and timely information to all levels participate in Area meetings and encourage a culture of open and honest communication. To work with the Business Manager to determine the priority tasks of the Area and deliver the agreed timetable for communication and implementation. To assist the Business Manager to identify and develop growth areas, research new shop sites and opportunities, and proactively discuss possibilities with the Business Manager. To ensure a high quality of service throughout the Area, encouraging the highest standard of customer care through training and example. To build and support positive internal and external relationships to maximise income and sourcing donations for the Area. To support the development of fundraising activity as an additional income stream within the Area. To work with the shop management team to actively encourage links with local communities and Care Centres, and to promote Retail in the area via media and other sources. To fulfill any other agreed duties that may at times be reasonably required. To deputise for the Business Manager in their absence.
