Popular Sue Ryder Care Golf Day Returns!

Taking place on the 10th October 2008 the golf day will be returning to the magnificent John O’Gaunt Golf Club, Sutton, Sandy, Bedfordshire. The John O’Gaunt Golf Club is one of the finest in the country, boasting picturesque scenery and fine greens. 

Sue Ryder Care are also looking forward to hosting a special guest at this year’s event - 1966 World Cup Football winner Martin Peters MBE.  

All funds raised from the event will go towards supporting the Moggerhanger hospice.  For over 25 years Sue Ryder Care - St. John’s Hospice has been providing care for people who are seriously ill, helping them to get the best from life.  Sue Ryder Care provides expert and compassionate care and support for people living with serious illnesses and conditions, as well as their families and loved ones. The charity enables people to get the best from their lives, by helping put back what conditions like Cancer, Multiple Sclerosis and Brain Injury take away. 

Sue Ryder Care Fundraiser Grant Peters said:  “As you can imagine raising funds to meet our ever-growing costs St John’s is a demanding task.  We receive some of our income from Health Service funding, however the remainder has to be found locally and through fund raising events. 

During this year we need to raise £1million locally and so we hope as many local people and businesses as possible will support the golf day and help us help more.” Sue Ryder Care – St Johns Hospice have been very fortunate that local company Marshall Land Rover Bedford have kindly agreed to sponsor two golf holes at this years event. Marshall Motor Group is the largest subsidiary of the Marshall Group of Companies, with 40 sites representing 15 different franchises.  Founded in 1909 in Cambridge, Marshall Motor Group is a regional dealer group who is dedicated to providing first class service to all of its customers.
