Volunteer

We are really excited to offer you engagement opportunities which everyone from senior management to shop floor individuals can take advantage of.

The roles can be anything from basic off-the-peg experiences such as working in one of our shops for the day, cheering on runners at an event, speaking to residents about a hobby such as bird watching to “Team Building” activities such as redecorating a room at a care centre or training and mentoring staff on a range of skills like IT.

The grid below outlines the commitment level and type of opportunities available:

Commitment	Examples of engagement opportunities
1-2 Days	Practical projects and team building challenges through care centres and shops. Other volunteering opportunities linked to Sue Ryder Care events such as running, cheering & street collections. Hobbies and knowledge share for benefit of Service Users and Staff.
6-8 Days	Project based volunteering which can be executed in a block or over a number of weeks.
Special Projects	Projects that utilise specific skills being developed in Apprentice, Graduate Schemes and management involvement at all levels. Technically Challenging Projects.
Long Term/Regular Volunteering	Variety of opportunities for which training is provided. Something for which you see a longer-term/on-going need.
